There will be an opportunity for “ALL” girls aspiring to try out for the 2018-2019 Lady Giants Basketball team to participate in an open shoot around on Monday, November 19th, after school until 6:00pm. All you need to participate is a physical on file, shorts, t-shirt, and shoes, along with a ride that will pick you up promptly at 6:00pm. This is open to 7th and 8th grade. Have you ever wanted to go to Greece? Well, Spring Break 2020 could be your opportunity. Come to an informational meeting on Thursday, November 29 at 6pm, right here at LHC to hear more about an exciting opportunity to see the first Olympic Stadium, take a Greek cooking class and see the Acropolis. Are you a singer, dancer, poet, rapper, magician, or comedian? Well, Student Services wants YOU. Student Services will be hosting a talent show for students and staff to showcase their talents. Auditions will be held on December 4th and 6th by invitation only. The talent show will be held December 12th. Stop by Student Services for an audition form. Only the first 25 acts to sign up will get an audition. Sign up and show off your skills!

The canned food drive ends today! Teachers please email Miss McCall if you have any canned food in your classroom.

Attention 7th and 8th Grade Ladies,

Girls Basketball Tryouts are just around the corner.  We will have Tryouts Dec. 4th, 5th, and 6th.  It is expected that you be at each tryout date.  In order to tryout for the girls basketball teams, you must have the following done.

  1. Before Tryouts, you must turn in a completed physical form that is done on our form. There are a total of 6 pages that need to be filled out. You can pick up physical forms in front of the athletic office by the clinic, in the bookstore and at the Main Office.
  2. When you come to tryouts, you must be in a t-shirt, shorts, and basketball shoes.
  3. Bring a positive attitude and be ready to work.

If you have any questions or concerns please come see Mr. Aspaas or Mr. Perkins.

Are you creative and love to draw?! Then we have a contest just for you! Lynhurst is having a yearbook cover contest! The top three entries will get a free yearbook and the winner’s drawing will be the new cover of the yearbook! To enter grab a form in student services or see Mrs. Haverly in room C13. Entries are due November 30th so don’t wait!!

IN SPORTS:

We had a tough win on Wednesday when the 8th grade Giants won 32 vs. Center Grove North’s 30. The Giants pulled off a hard, tough battle by a well coached team. Sheridan Sharp scored 9 points with 3 assist & 2 steals and Ernest Simmons put up 7 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals and Shaun Arnold scored 8 points off the bench.  We had a tough loss for the B-Team, Giants 21, Center Grove North 43. Mark White scored 13 points and Ardrece Bussey scored 4 points and 6 rebounds. Our next game will be against Creston in the Marion County Tournament after Thanksgiving. Enjoy your break.

The 7th grade boys’ basketball team hosted Avon Middle School South Tuesday night.  Although the A team lost,  the B team was victorious on an Andrew Evans game winning jump shot with just under 25 seconds left.  The B team was led by Nolan Tucker with 7 points.  This improved their record to 2-0 on the season.
