What’s New at LHC?

2023-2024 Yearbook
The Lynhurst 2023-2024 yearbook is now available for pre-order. Yearbooks will be delivered to the school during the last week of May and your yearbook will be delivered to your homeroom teacher. In order to pre-order your yearbook, enter YOUR first and last name, as well as your HOMEROOM teacher’s name. Additional information, including the link to purchase ads and yearbooks, is available on ParentSquare. Thank you for a wonderful year! We look forward to sharing these memories with you!

BINGO for Books
STAR’s annual BINGO for Books is on Tuesday, April 30th from 6:00-7:00 PM in the cafeteria. Bring the whole family to play BINGO and win fabulous prizes like Sky Zone Jump Passes, basketballs, games, and soccer balls, and, of course, FREE BOOKS! Plus, you do NOT want to miss the Taki Raffle: Guess how many bags of Takis are in the tote to win them all!

So grab an adult (because you must have one with you to participate) and the rest of your family and be here for BINGO for Books on April 30th!

International Festival Writing Contest
Listen up, writers and poets!

The International Festival is coming soon–May 15th.

That means it’s time to be thinking about Lynhurst’s annual International Festival Writing Contest. Any 7th and 8th grade student who wants to write a poem, story, or essay in an attempt to win fame and fortune (well, having your name announced and some prizes) can enter.

International Festival 4v4 Indoor Soccer Tournament

Entrance Fee is $30.00 Per Team
Teams of no more than (5) no less than (4)
You can only PLAY on (1) Team
All players must be from LHC
Teams can be mixed by grade level
Sign-up Sheets and Payments in Giant Station (Bookstore)
Registration will begin Monday, April 22nd and run until all team spots are filled! (10 Spots Available!!!)
Team names as well as all player names MUST be given at the time of registration/payment in the bookstore
Games will be played Wednesday, May 15th in the main gym during the International Festival at LHC.

What’s New with Athletics?

Sports Physical
Sports Physicals for Athletics & Marching Band

Anyone interested in sports next year whether at LHC or at BD (or marching band at the high school) will need a NEW physical exam completed by a physician and turned in to be eligible for tryouts or practices. This includes summer workouts!

On May 2nd, Ben Davis will be hosting their annual Physical Night. For $25 you can get all your doctors paperwork completed for sports or marching band and turned in to the school to be ready for next year!

LHC Athletics will be providing transportation over to Ben Davis after school on May 2nd. YOU MUST HAVE A CONSENT FORM SIGNED BY YOUR PARENT IN ORDER TO GET ONTO THAT BUS! Consent forms and more information about Physical Night can be picked up either in the Giant Station or outside of Ms. Casselman’s office in the Grand Hall. Please see Ms. Casselman if you have any questions.

The first 40 people who sign-up to ride the bus over to BD, will be entered into a raffle to win a variety of gift cards!

LHC Cheer Tryouts – Current 7th Graders
You MUST attend ONE Call-Out Meeting with a Parent or Guardian. All meetings will be held at 6pm in the Auditorium. Enter through Door 16!

April 17th at 6pm
April 25th at 6pm
You MUST have an updated physical on file in order to tryout.
You MUST attend BOTH clinic days in order to tryout.
- May 20th and 21st from 4:30pm – 6pm
Tryouts will be on May 23rd beginning at 4:30pm
TOMORROW is the second opportunity to attend the REQUIRED Informational Meeting. If they have already attended a meeting, they DO NOT have to attend another one!
